Hi Guys
Any of you finding when you start SH5 that Uplay now updates each time and takes a long time doing it?

Is it anything to do with the number of Campaign dat files in the Log folder?

It shouldn't unless your file is a very old version. A few of us had major login issues months ago. It is best to got to Ubisoft Uplay page and download latest Uplay, now version 4.1+.

No.
Happen to me too at first, well, not anymore now, just as Mikemike47 said:

Thanks guys for your replies.
It was taking me around 30 minutes for uplay to update each time.
Between my first and second posts I found around 30 dat files in the logs folder which I deleted. Uplay updated straight away and I logged in ok
My uplay version in properties is 4.1.02233 26/11/2013.
Can you tell me what is the difference between playing online and offline? Does this have any effect on Uplay updating?

I have deleted the *.dat files in the log folders from time to time. Makes no difference with game play.
Playing online may or may not cause weird UPlay crashes. I do not know since I play offline.
My understanding of playing online is that it syncs your game saves on a Ubisoft server. Click on the gear wheel on the main Uplay screen to see the release notes on what else it does.
The game allows you to play on another computer as long as you have your username/password available. Than you can load a saved game from the Ubisoft servers.
I haven't had a problem with Uplay updating while playing offline since version 2, IIRC. There is a cache settings to clear somewhere in the program, too. Helps some, others it did not help. During some version 2 changes, clearing the cache, made no difference in my experience. Had to call tech support, too. That is why I downloaded the Uplay installler when the game locked up at that point. My problem solved once I installed the newer version of Uplay that I downloaded.
