Yeah, if it would just stop raining, I'd be thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Its Texas lol, we have snow going on in the other half of the state.
Thanks for the turkey day best wishes. I got a 20 lb bird in the fridge thawing out, made a batch of beef jerkey for guests to snack on. We are doing a pot luck this year at our place. about 15-20 guests expected. should be a proper feast when its all in place. Dressing, casseroles, cakes, pies, mashed potatoes, gravy...
It will be good to sit together friends and family, think about all that we have to be grateful for, enjoy our meal, and relax with a football game on TV, a good glass of something on the rocks and the aroma of cigars.
Truly a great time of year

It sleeted here most of the day.
Made for a miserable evening out deer hunting.
This deer season was a bust for a lot of people because of the rapid change in weather. Not many deer were taken this year, seems like.
Anyway, Thanksgiving had a wet towel thrown over it for me this year. Usually we go across the state to stay with grandparents and see the family but we're not this year. This is the first Thanksgiving I've ever spent at home.
Probably spend it sleeping and duck hunting. :)

For saving the Pilgrims from starvation.

One of the last of the automatics that could be 'bump started', wasn't it?

I had a buddy many years ago that had a '54 Buick, his battery was toast so when he shut it off he made sure he was on a downhill slope so we had to get out and push it to 'bump start' the car.

Some of the mid 60's models would start if you towed them up to speed.
I remember doing that with my Dad when I was just off the tit.
:D
Was a Cold winter day and I remember that as the earliest time doing Car stuff with my Dad.

As I recall, the automatic transmission had to have a rear pump in order to bump start it. My 1959 Pontiac did NOT. I never got the chance with the '64 Pontiac as I wrote it off before the battery needed changing. (10 days old):wah:

I called Dad.
It was a '59 Fury we had that day.
:haha:
He said up to '64 or '65 you could tow an automatic fast enuf to start.
That depended on the transmission.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Have to keep a good thought for those who won't be home for Thanksgiving this year.

Those old Tomahawk missiles weren't very effective against the onslaught of European shipping because the natives were yet to discover iron or steel.:hmmm:

Actually the Vikings found out otherwise in both Newfoundland at Anse'l Meadows and Greenland that the 'Skraelings and Esquimoos' could more than hold their own from 1000-1400 AD; and their 'cold technology' was superior. The real weapon of western conquest was Smallpox as evidenced by the Ponce De Leon battle site (he lost) but the natives subsequently died en masse. The lore of the Chippewa in Minnesota is of a die-off possibly connected to the Kensington Runestone party of the 1320's. Throw in Sir Jeffry Amherst's suggestion of imported Smallpox-infected blankets for the Indians, to "effect a final solution"(his words!):nope: to the Mohawk/Iroquois problem prior to the Revolution, and the massive, well- documented sufferings of the Mandans, Aztecs and Incas, and its biological warfare more than anything else...:/\\!!

We had a great Thanksgiving.
After 18 years of trying, I finally succeeded in getting The Frau to agree to go to a restaurant for dinner! WOOT!
No stress, no clean up, and a lot less expensive. And best of all, no relatives!
Imagine, spending a holiday alone with the woman I love. That's what holidays are for :yeah::yeah::yeah:
