It's almost that day of the year, where Santa comes to them, who's been a nice person this year

Let's hear what's on you wish-list to Santa.

Here's mine

A new coffee machine
New Sandals(for indoors use)
Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations
(the wish above cost a lot, so I guess I will not get that one)

That's all. My wish-list isn't so long.

I wonder if it is more torturous to not know what your getting, or to know what your getting, but you cannot touch it until xmas, no matter how badly you want to. :O:

I know what I'm getting, its in the factory box, but I can't touch it. The other xmas present is still in the oven, and shouldn't arrive tell the latter end of January.

I don't want anything, I don't really need anything, same as last year.

And the year before that.

Apart from maybe a winning lottery ticket*, I'll go for that.

*big bucks, not your usual few dozen pounds.

My first married Christmas, 1974, drove my young wife crazy. She asked if I minded if she shook her presents. I said "No, go ahead. Knock yourself out."

She asked if I wanted to shake mine. I said "No, I'm good."

She said "Don't you want to know what's in them?"

I said "Not really. I'll find out on Christmas."

She just couldn't understand why I wasn't the least bit curious. I didn't tell her that when I was little I would sneak out in the middle of the night and shake things, even going so far as to once very carefully untaping and retaping a box that had me curious. I found that after I knew what I was getting it wasn't fun anymore. Also I was terrified that I hadn't retaped it properly and my dad would find out. What he might do was of no concern, only that he would know.

I haven't been curious since. I like surprises. On the other hand the only family I have left don't really talk to me, so I don't do Christmas much anymore.

Let me guess...

Halo
Doctor Who
Sausage
Rise of Flight DLC

:arrgh!:

That's all I got.

Sadly, my wife's mother had a stoke last night, not sure how bad yet, still under observation.....

Sorry to hear that. My grandmother had a mini-stroke a while back

Definitely not good stuff. Hope it gets better.

------

My list

Really all I want is a pre-war Mosin-Nagant M91/30...Doctor Sleep by Stephen King...and Command Authority by Tom Clancy.

GTA III, SA, IV, and/or V would be awesome too....but it's on the bottom of the list.

There are a lot of things I want. Realistically I can go on and on. So I'll just keep it on the most important. Good health and happiness for family and friends.
Armistead, best of luck for your mother in law and wife. You all have my prayers.

When I was a kid, I did the EXACT same thing. Only I got caught. I remember my mom breaking down in tears, and my dad being so angry and disappointed. I never did it again, and to this day, each year, i catch flak for that episode in the form of parental stories to any willing ear.

I want my life back.

Santa has approved your wish, however he can only make it half way

This mean that you will wake up on the 26th of December looking just as you did when you were 20 years old

Your brain and experience will remain(no possibility to see future)

This will of course give some problems such as
Some elder speaking:
"Those young lads, they think they know everything"

Or do you want it the other way around ? You can't have both

Santa doesn't come here anymore, so the wish list is a moot point.

I wonder if it has something to do with me popping the reindeer in a year past?
Christmas dinner had hooves and antlers.
Mighty tasty.:arrgh!:

When I found out my parents hid the presents at my grandfathers house (he was deaf as a consequence of shelling during WWI) I'd often have a gander.

On more than one occasion I heard my mom say to my dad "looks like grandad has been checking we bought the youngster the right present".

Of course I wanted to know what it was in the package,
I did only so, when our grandma visit us during a Christmas or had send us some Christmas gift.

It was always soft package and I hated those gift.

One year though, I saw a hard package from her. I was glad, for once I will get something else, than the ordinary home made sweatshirt

It was a hard package alright, inside it was.....:wah:

^ so you have the same traditional story about Santa.

Here the story is that children that hadn't behaved well got a piece of coal instead of a present from Santa.

Don't remember why I did but I always asked Santa for a nuclear bomb every year without fail. I still want one even today. I think it may have had something to do with the deadly beauty of the explosions.

I'm so sorry to hear it. I do have a few friends, and a couple of very good ones. Not that I see them very often, and the closest one lives nowhere near me, though we do communicate regularly.
