I noticed earlier today I was being asked to download Adobe Flash Player before I could view video footage on a news site (something I have always been able to do).

A quick computer search and sure enough only Adobe reader was installed and Flash Player was gone.

I visited the Adobe download site and despite numerous attempts I am unable to find it after installation and continue to be unable to view videos.

I have carried out the above operation with UAC both enabled and disabled (OS W7).

Anyone got any suggestions?

I found this on the interwebz, I don't know how relevant it is.

The reason why your computer has this problem with Flash Player is due to having hardware acceleration settings enabled. Flash Player does not support this therefore it appears and disappears leading to it crashing. You need to check the Accelerated graphics settings in the Control Panel and then select "Use software rendering" instead of "GPU rendering". Click "OK" and then restart your computer.

Or try with a different browser.

I'll check that out tomorrow Tony cheers.

I'm still at a loss how I lost the Flash Player in the first instance though.

It's happened to me a couple of times before on different PCs but I've always just downloaded and installed again and it's fine. :-?

It's working with Chrome so I'll make do with that until I can get my usual/preferred option working.

Ta...very much appreciate your help and efforts :yeah:
