flak tutorial

I'm getting slaughtered in the flak tutorial. I have SH3 with GWX3.0 mod. I get killed in under 30 seconds each time with either manual or computer control of the AA gun. Any suggestions?:doh:

The flak tutorial was made for stock SH3. It is a known issue when using GWX, the planes are much deadlier.:yep: No one has lived through it to my knowledge.

I've lived through it, and I'm sure others have. But it's not necessary. With GWX you get the extra 1500 renown for completing just the navigation course. The rest are just to help you learn. The real lesson of the flak course is don't tangle with airplanes. If you see one, dive. :sunny:

I've lived through it. The trick is to move the boat at flank speed and make hard turns to dodge incoming bombs. Target incoming bombers first.

Not done it sh3 for a long time ,tried it in sh4 (FORTS) few weeks ago and got obliterated. So I inserted 2 New Jersey BB'S either side of me and still got sunk

In the stock tutorial, they do not even shoot at you. Which I fear has lulled many a new commander into trouble.

I set flank speed and hard right rudder and let the boat run in circles. I let the flak gunners do their job and make it my job to replace them the instant they get hit.

Good, sounds like getting killed is the norm.:D
