Just when I thought things were starting to look a bit better in Syria:

Israeli aircraft have carried out a strike near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia, a US official says.
The official said the strike targeted Russian-made missiles intended for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
Latakia is a stronghold of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, where his Alawite community is concentrated.
This is believed to be sixth Israeli attack in Syria this year. Israel does not comment on specific operations.

And because it is Israel, no one will do anything about it. :nope:

Things had been as usual in Syria but less interesting.:03:

And because it is Israel, no one will do anything about it.

What do you mean?:)

Let the UN dismantle our militaristic aggressive air force?

I agree. Every time I read about something like this, my mind just couldn't help wishing that the Arabs could get their act together and actually spank this little .... of a country.

If the missiles were earmarked for delivery to Hezbollah would that not make the strike justified?

To be honest I think any nation would undertake such a mission if it had the means to do so, if the situation was transplanted to their locale.

I like your logic. No word about how the Arabs should get their crap together to stop the bloodbath in Syria with 10000s of dead so far.
When Israel protects its own national interests: finally I can point a finger at the real violator of human rights in the Middle East!

Of course yes. The Americans said after the first attack on that targets months ago that it has failed. So the Israelis revisited. Also possible that the Rus sians have sent a new delivery meanwhile.

The Saudis are supporting the religious fanatics on the rebels' side, because Assad is a threat for them, as is any axis between Shia Iran and partners of it. That the Saudis recently rejected a UNSC seat, is a slap in the face of the Americans, because the Saudis have not forgiven Obama's ridiculous zig-zagging in the ME, and over Syria. Obama'S policy change (or indifference and lack in course plotting) is a direct threat for the regimes in the Gulf region, also the new American "energy revolution" (fracking boom) - if America does not need the ME oil anymore, it will not see much need to militarily invest there. In other words: the Arabs do not trust Obama in special and America in general anymore.

I think we will see the entry of several new competitors for the nuclear arms race in the region soon.

And then there is Erdoghanistan's special ways and his recent announcement to buy SAMs from China...

Well they're certainly intent on surviving and they can hardly be blamed for that.

Yeah how dare those dirty Jews do what the US Government threatened to do itself just a couple of months earlier. :nope:
