McDonald's has said it is to stop serving Heinz ketchup in its stores after 40 years.
The world's biggest fast-food chain said it would drop the ketchup after Bernardo Hees, the former head of rival Burger King, took over as Heinz's chief executive.
"We have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time," McDonald's said.

As my taste buds have grown older I've come to prefer Hunts, but I'm still not playing on eating meat that wasn't fit for human consumption until it was treated with ammonia. :har:

Tomato Sauce is what goes into spaghetti. :yeah:

I never liked Burger King, I call em lettuce burgers.......
I hate all fast food burgers anyway. We still have 3 old style drive up food joints where they come to your car and all serve amazing burgers for basically the same price.

Well the mom and pop greasy spoon joints are always the best, and if given the choice, I'll go to one over a chain burger joint. However, as chain fast food joints go, Burger king's burgers are way better then the cardboard McDonalds shovels out.

What brand of ketchup is on your hamburger. These are problems you want to have in life. :yep:
I prefer Burger King over McD's. There is a good BK about a mile away. Wendy's is pretty good, too. I seldom eat fast food anymore. I like it ok, but will usually get chinese, when I feel like something special.

I can't argue with that.
I can. Something that you can worry about that's even less important than tomato sauce is... worrying about why TorpX uses indents in his posts. It's somehow scaring me :o
Say, aren't you that artist guy?

I wonder if Warren Buffet who recently purchased a very sizable share of Heinz will now stop eating at the McDonalds where he lives.(no joke he really does eat at the McDonalds near his house by his own admission).
Of interest Burger King is one of the corporations that got a waiver for the AAC(Obama Care) McDonalds did not apply for one.I'd say that McDonalds treats it employees slightly better if they are willing to take on the insurance benefits(for full time workers of course).

I was planning to start a crusade to make all Subsim posts indented, automatically, but was diverted by the pressing question of the katchup. I mean is it better as katchup, or catsup? I can't decide.
Say, aren't you that artist guy?
You'll have to be more specific. I doubt that I am that guy, but there is the off chance I'm the other guy.

What do you call the sauce you put in spaghetti?

Arby's is pretty good too. They've got a great chicken sandwich and of course, there's Chick-Fil-A.
I'm not exactly sure it classifies as fast food, but Steak and Shake is also good. :yeah:
Love those skinny fries and milkshakes...and their burgers are actually not bad.

Steak and Shake is fast food that is what your typical burger joint used to be like pre modern style fast food anyway Stake and Shake is fast food.
The best fat food burger made by a national chain is by far 5 Guys.
Basic rule of thumb is if it takes you less than an hour to come in the door sit have your meal and go it is fast food and most places even Stake and shake you can come in and be done in 30 minutes.Honestly I consider just about any major chain to be fast food.Even sit down joints like Red Lobster,Olive Garden everything there is pre made they just take it out of a walk in cooler and heat it up some times literately in a microwave.
I see the inside of industrial kitchens at least four or fives times a week to work on their coolers and freezers.there is a vast difference between a chain restaurant and a real restaurant that has actual trained chiefs.
all that being said I have seen chain restaurant kitchens that are gross I have seen mom and pop joints that are gross and i have seen high end joints that are gross.I have also seen very good examples of each type of eatery it mainly depends on the management. One thing i have noticed is that the places that have good kitchens by chance also happen to be popular with law enforcement likely because they eat out a lot and in the same general region and the joints that made them sick they avoid.
Fun thought for the day.. I have seen tons of people smoking inside kitchens while prepping and cooking food yum extra black pepper.I also once saw a restaurant owner bring her poodle inside the kitchen (huge violation) and then set it down on top of one of the prep tables a cook then pet the dog and did not wash his hands.
As for Steak and Shake they seem to be hit or miss they are either very clean or very dirty. You can actually scope them out take a look at the grill next time you are in one then above the grill there will be a ventilation duct those should be clean if they are dirty you can bet that plenty else is dirty.

5 Guys is probably the best fast food burger. I have to agree. They've got a killer bacon burger.
And while many kitchens may be nasty, I try not to think about that when I eat at some of these places...
Nastiest place I ever ate was a Huddle House in St. Louis. :nope:

I prefer a simple vendor than a McD or Burger King.
You'll see the meat being grilled and choose anything you want inside. No menus.
Plus a normal burger is twice the size of a bigmack and half the price with fresh vegetables inside.

Personally, I'm not overly concerned about the state of the kitchen. Out of sight, out of mind. The way I see it, while in the service, I've eaten at some dives in Korea and Central America that would never pass ANY health sanitation standard in the continental united states. I probably have a cast iron gut.
I do have a brother in law that works in the resturant industry. He's a bit of a resturant snob. I suppose its because he's aware of industry standards where as i could care less. The only time I'll turn my nose at a joint is if i have already eaten there and gotten the runs a couple times. Two strikes and your out! (Yeah I'm talking about you Sizzler in Provo! )

5 guys makes a good burger. My wife has a few in her family that worked at Burger King when they were teenagers. All said the kitchen and entire restaurant was super clean. Same for my niece and nephew that worked Wendy's in their teen years. By and large I would say a majority of restaurants are clean. I judge the cleanliness of the establishment by looking at the dining area and bathroom. I have walked out of a few with a quick look at the dining area that looked like a cow palace. No paddies for me! Thanks.

That's Torplexed. Close, but no cigar.

To me, not indenting looks odd. I mean, when you open a book, is the writing just 2 milimeters from the edge of the page? When you use the "quote" box, it moves the words over a bit, and that isn't odd, is it?
Anyway, I think it looks better.

But you don't indent your paragraph leaders, and books do. :O:
There's nothing wrong with it, of course. It just looks to me like extra time and effort.

Yeah I don't care much about what's in the kitchen if the food is good.
I've not eaten in Korea or Central America....yet....so I don't know how it compares to places here. Course, there are good and bad places wherever you go.

There are certain buffet places to stay away from because of how they keep the food out. There was a terrible BBQ place in North Carolina that looked like they hadn't made fresh food in days....and there's a procedure for the bathroom
Depending on what has to happen here, you can either finish and leave or continue with the process.
Check out the toilet seat
Wipe with toilet paper
Check again and wipe again if needed
If available, use paper seat cover
Check again
Decide what's going to happen. Yay or Nay
:O: Pre-Wipe is kind of a rule of thumb for a public bathroom.

It's like how I split up my paragraphs into a couple sentences at a time. It makes it easier to read and it's not a wall of text.
Just like this. Break it up a bit. I choose not to indent because most other posts aren't. But, to each their own.
I can read the words and I would assume everybody else can too so I don't see anything wrong with it.

When I was riding on the inner city squads, many of our daytime calls were to restaurants. Eventually, we all had a list of restaurants we refused to patron. We used denial to justify eating at restaurants we never got a call for.
Deep down, we all knew that all the restaurants were the same, but denial is sometimes the only thing you have to keep your sanity.
More than once my date would suggest "why don't we go to xxx to eat."
"Uh no"
"why"
"You will have to trust me on this"
Protip: If an EMT does not want to eat at a specific restaurant, trust them. Don't ask them to explain though. :o:huh::dead:
