Someone is selling a Hetzer tank destroyer on Ebay. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1945-Hetzer-/111194716247?forcerrptr=true&hash=item19e3b8b857&item=111194716247&pt=Military_Vehicles)

Best part:

The engine has been completely rebuilt in the last 5 years at great expense. This includes new bearings, valves, solex carbs, rebuilt starter, magnito generator, and safety clutch plate. Starts and runs perfectly.

I suggest we buy it to aid Subsim's world domination plans.

We're talking more than half a mil and you're sweating the paint job? Paint is cheap. I'll do it for next to nothing.

I'm surprised Dowly isn't bidding. It's likely to be the closest thing he'll get to a working Stug.

A Hetzer is not a StuG. I guess he goes for all or nothing.:smug:

Okay sounds good. We'll park it right next to the Aircraft Carrier we bought a while back.

I bid one Deutsche mark.

I take your one DM...raise you 2 Deutsche marks

Probably extremely high or low depending on how you measure it.

I bet it gets great Square Inches Per Gallon.

I'm afraid that won't work. Originally you could buy it for Reichsmarks, the Deutsche Mark was our post war currency that has been replaced by the Euro.

*Smartass wins again*:D

Here's a little offtopic story

I wasn't very old at that time. I was with my Father visiting some relatives, I guess it was. He was a very old man and I thought that he was very very rich. He had a parcel filled with German Reichsmarks.

Later on I learned that those money was worth nothing.

It was money from the time where Germany had this huge inflation were a cup of sugar could cost about 1-2 million Riechsmark. It was those money he had.

Should have been more detailed about that. Sorry

Reminds me of a history lesson in school many years ago where in the book we were reading was a picture of an old lady pushing a wheelbarrow full of bank notes...the caption underneath explained it was just enough to buy a loaf of bread at the time.
