I am interested in patch 1.5 but not interested in the uboat missions is it worth it to me mod wise and playability wise to purchase the expansion just for patch 1.5. Does the game play better or look better with 1.5 over staying with 1.4. Opinions please. bwchaney.

It doesn't really make the game look better, but the 1.5 patch adds a few more bells & whistles, even for the fleet boats, fixes some bugs, and all the major mods ( which make the game more visually appealing) are now based on it.

Basically, you're over a barrel when it comes to this. I refused to pay for a patch for the longest time but eventually bought it anyways. Can't say I regret it though.

There are some terrific Allied Mods that you can not play without upgrading to 1.5. I would do it for the mods capability alone.

Get the patch, it's well worth it. It fixes a lot of bugs and all the best mods are written for 1.5. The U-boat missions are interesting too. It gives a different perspective. If you can get past friendly/enemy thing and realize that it's just a bunch of pixels on a computer screen, then it really adds a dimension.
