Hello ,
I play Sh3 and no mater what mod I use I see this kind of effect
http://img.techpowerup.org/131011/sh3light.jpg
The pic is almost dark (Feb 41 near Gibraltar streight) but dots of light can be seen around the sub tower and the horizon.
I have an nvidia Card with latest drivers .Are there any settings that I can use?

Could be bad pixels and you are noticing them only because you usually do not look at an all black screen?

no because they appear in different places on the horizont, and always apear around the sub edges. And, by your suggestion I just ran a monitor test and it checks out fine.

at first thought dead pixels but you said thats not the issue. but second a thought a town or city... but that is unlikely. If you have a nother monitor laying around give it a try just for basic troubleshooting

I used The Nvidia control panel to bump image quality to max and the points of light have reduced. Now they mostly appear around the wires that connect the bow and stern with the tower.

so that sounds like it is a rendering issue or a connection issue somewhere. short of taking apart your computer and cleaning every connection with air clown into it (not from your mouth) there is nothing else you can do to eliminate a connection issue.

I am using now the Manos 4.2 environments and I have applied the tweaks from this thread

then likely a connection issue and they can be a pain. something as simple as a broken wire in a cord to as complicated as a spec of dust somewhere in a connection in the desktop case
