First time I am speaking here on subsim, so hello everyone.
Now onto what I need help with, first I am running the 1.2 version of the dvd exe so I can use the TDW patcher. Now as for patching my copy of SH5 I would like to know what I need so that when a ship gets hit and starts taking on water, that it will continue to take on water till it sinks unless of course it is repaired.
Second I have a few mods I've downloaded and tried, but seem to have some issues, so I would like some help with the ordering of the mods and of course suggestions of mods that I might need. the following image is of the mods I have and the order I installed them.

Now the problem I'm having is that when I use my scope to start identifying and setting all my other TDC info I cannot identify the ship as the officer that normally let me click the identification, range, etc. No longer has these options and just says unknown ship and will not let me select any of the TDC options no matter how many times I turn on and off the TDC, so I need help figuring out what I did wrong.
side note: I have the realism setting set to high and not realistic.

The patch that you are looking for is called Crew AI Damage Control, an makes AI ship crews to handle damage onboard, thus making ships harder to sink. A few notes about the usage of the above patch and of TDW's generic patcher in general:
- in the Generic Patcher package, MOD folder, there is a second package called AI_Crew_Damage_Control.zip which contains some additional mods intended to work together with the omonymus patch, or for testing it. You should enable with JSGME the one called AI_Crew_Damage_Control_Revised_Zones_cfg_Based_On_ FX_Update_By_TheDarkWraith. It will make ship flooding more severe. It is compatible with FX Update and you should enable it after the latter mod. Any other mod overwriting its files, or getting overwritten by it, are not compatible.
- some users have reported ships with their deck awash refusing to sink, or resurrecting when they had been apparently sunk, so if you have already enabled the revised zones mod, and you still experince those side effects, be ready to disable the patch.
- before you enable any patch by TDW, make sure to read the thread How to Use TDW GenericPatcher for Beginer (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=2080306#post2080306) by our Sjizzle :up:

New UI's replaces the XO dialog and the stock recognition manual with a more realistic TDC interface and with a more complete recognition manual, called SOAN (i.e. Ships Of All the Nations):

Should you miss the old dialog interface and recognition manual, you can enable one of the two ERM_Reape7 New UIs optional mods, which will restore an enhanced version of the above features:

The file AI_Crew_Damage_Control_Revised_Zones_cfg_Based_On_ FX_Update_By_TheDarkWraith is not in my MODS folder for the TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_149_0
I only have one file named AI_Crew_Damage_Control, So do I need to get that file from somewhere else?
Edit:Ignore my response ^ there, I failed to realize that the file was a zip containing the mod to be added into the JSGME MODS folder, I had a brain hiccup.

If I plug that in right after FX, it then gets overwritten with oh2 and RSD files .. is that ok ?

No, it isn't.
Open Horizon's Zones.cfg, i.e. the file which gets overwritten between the four mods, is the least updated, and it can be overwritten without problems. On the other hand, RSD's version of the file is the most recent and should be enabled after Fx Update (and Open Horizons, indeed).
There is a problem with the AI_Crew_Damage_Control_Revised_Zones_cfg mod though, that I overlooked yesterday :hmmm:
It contains revised flooding settings for many of the old zones, but it misses the new zone definitions of the latest FX.U. and R.S.D versions. One should copy the missing definitions from R.S.D. 5.3 and paste them in the correct order (zone definitions are numbered and index-linked) into the Zones.cfg of the Revised Zones mod which, at this point, could be enabled as last of the four mods. The correct enabling order would be:
Open Horizons II v 2.2
FX Update v 0.0.22
R.S.D. v 5.3
AI_Crew_Damage_Control_Revised_Zones_cfg_Based_On_ FX_Update_By_TheDarkWraith (updated version)

oh dear I better wait with the install till this gets sorted. I can try to merge too but the result will need overlooking.

You can do it: it is really an easy task, and since you are at it, you can also do the same work with Alternate Sinking Mechanism (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1861943#post1861943) (v1 and v2), and Real Sink 1.0 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1719923#post1719923). They are not compatible with each other and with the AI Crew Damage mod, but they can be made compatible with the latest versions of FX.U. and R.S.D. by merging the missing zone definitions.
When you get the files ready, you should start a new REL thread, call it "Zones.cfg updates" or something like that, put there the links to the various versions of the file tweaked by you, and keep them updated when a mod adds new zone definitions or modifies the old ones. :03:

Exactly that: the file contains three sections:
- [Zones List]: it is the index of the zone definitions set in the file. They must be numbered and sorted in ascending order. Most mods come to a stop at 224=NFlotFlood, I think. You should add the missing zones from R.S.D. 5.3, which got the most updated Zones.cfg at present. The good news is that all the versions of Zones.cfg follow the same numbering, so all you need to do is checking the end of the Zone List of each file for missin entries :up:
- after that section, there are n sections (where n = sorting number of the last item in Zones List), each containing the settings of each of the zones listed in the Zones List section. There are no numbers here, but zone definitions follow the same order as in the Zones List, and their headers use the same names as stated in Zones List. Again, you should skip to the end, and copy/paste the missing definitions.
- the last short section is called [Global Params] and you shouldn't touch it.

There is still very much that I don't know. My weakest point? Campaign settings: I know almost nothing about them (shame on Trevally who didn't teach me yet :D) ...not to mention all the knowledge of TDW about SH5's code, which is definitely outside my reach. :03:

Do you mean the one you have pasted @ post #10 ? That file is missing the new zones of R.S.D. If you had the latter mod enabled during your test at Memel, I am even surprised that you dind't get a CTD due to the missing zone definitions. :yep:

There is no issue vdr ;) there was talk about another mod needed which can be found in the mods shiped with generic patcher. It conflicts with several other mods that change zone.cfg
After mild investigation by yours truly, the files seem to be identical, except for values used, and your additions to the file. This caused some confusion, thats all.
@memel harbor issue: I think the issue I had there is that RSD chages a lot of 'father' values or outcomments them, where the one I was edditing, doesnt have those changes.
