Was curious if there was a simple way or mod (I am not using a supermod) to have the ememys Guns more accurate, usaually if I am engaged by enemy ship they miss by to me by very unrealistic ranges. It would be nice to see nearby splashes by Uboat but most if not all are miles away. Maybe there is a simple setting like veteran or ace I could set the enemy's gun firing too including airplanes?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks

I'm sure this sort of thing can be modded, but in real life, deck guns and flak guns are not very accurate in a tossing sea. That's why most destroyers and escorts preferred ramming tactics when a U-boat was on the surface, although the Royal Navy discouraged it as damage to the escort could be considerable.

To modify the guns to be more accurate, you will need to take this path-
ubisoft/silenthunter3/data/cfg
from there you will need to open the file named Sim and modify this line-
[AI Cannons]
-Max error angle=3 ;[deg]-
Max fire range=31000 ;[m]
Max fire wait=6 ;[s]
I think that is what you are looking for. As the person before me mentioned, accuracy on a pitching and rolling destroyer in heavy seas was a joke. Especially in the early war. British range finders were, to put it nicely, a complete joke. Look at Jutland in WWI, and the engagement between HMS Hood and the Bismarck. German optics were far better, and allowed the Germans to be on target within 2 salvos, where the British were usually not on target before 6-9 salvos had been fired. To me the accuracy in the game is fairly correct for British war ships.

Sorry for delay went camping and just got back. Thanks for the info and tip on editing that file. I hope this will work and be able to get the misses a little closer in so I can see the splashes closer to the Uboat. Had no idea that the way it is now in game could be realistic.
Thanks again I will give this a try.
