Not sure how the entrapment laws work, but this case sounds a bit like entrapment. Not saying the guy doesn't deserve a stint in chokey, but due process and all that?:hmmm:

He won't ultimately be tried for the fake hit - because that was entrapment. The government created the entire scenario to start with. They likely won't even try.

However, this was likely done to get him into custody, get DNA if not on file, get his cohorts and see which ones they could get to flip on him. Ultimately, they will end up trying to tie him to other stuff, not this.

You may be right. Will be interested to see how the trial transpires.
