View Full Version : "wie ein Pferdeapfel"

In the DBSM you here this phrase a lot and it's driving me a bit crazy, goes something like this:
"...fein 'raus. Wie ein Pferdeapfel, der ist nämlich auch fein 'raus, die braucht sich nicht mehr zu sorgen und quallen darf er auch".
Anyone know if I can remove this phrase?
On a different note, I sometimes also hear, in English while using German voices: "both planes zero", which is just out of character and ruins immersion a bit.
Just some pet peeves I have :O: I love the Das Boot Sound Mod!

I'm checking it now to see what I can figure out. :sunny:
[Edit] On the first problem, when are you hearing that phrase? I can't find anything that sounds like that to me. Can you describe the circumstance when it plays?
About "Both planes zero", I've listened to everything I can think of that would trigger that phrase. Is it definitely from the movie, or is it a regular game-voice? Is there a chance you have your Language button set to 'English'?

Hi Steve, I did what I should have done to begin with, look for the file itself --> the phrase is part of amb_SubmarineInterior.wav, starts at about 12 seconds in.
I have set the language to German, still looking if it is in amb_SubmarineInterior.wav but that loop takes 33 minutes so...
Edit: found second phrase too, in the same amb_SubmarineInterior.wav it's at about 2:24 "easy, both planes zero".
Although the loop is 33 minutes it seems to reinitiate after each time you go from bridge to interior, if the loop would simply go on where it left off it wouldn't be so annoying to me.

Maybe you can edit the wav file with Audacity, which is a free and simple to use audio editor.

That explains why I couldn't find it! :dead:
I think Sublynx has the only viable solution. I don't think I've ever noticed either of those. I tend to tune it out, so for me it's just background noise.

Sorry for the work I unnecessarily gave you but thanks very much for the effort.
Wil give Sublynx's solution a go.

I find the Google translation of the phrase interesting.
"out fine ... '. Like a horse apple, which is namely also fine 'out that no longer needs to worry and he can also jellyfish ".":haha:

lol I guess the phrase is about horse manure, because now it's fine now it's free and it can also just lay there smoking...or something like that.

Okay, now I'm really confused. I just listened to the entire amb_SubmarineInterior.wav. Its full running time is 10:18, and nothing like you describe is on it. The only voices at all are an occasional mumble in the background, nothing that can even be distinguished. I'm not sure where you got the file you're listening to, but it wasn't from the DBSM I put up.
[Edit] The phrase you describe is from the scene in the move in which they're sitting around the table eating lemons.
Herr Kaleun: "Comfortable, huh? No mail, no telephone. Well-ventilated boat. Solid wood panelling. Free food, too. We're in clover here."
LI: "Like fresh horse droppings. They're rolling in clover as well. They've no need to work to make a living. They're even allowed to smoke."
The translation is the one from the English subtitles to the movie, so who knows how accurate it is? The ending to the scene is the 'U-boot coctail'.

:/\\!!
I am so sorry, it is actually from Thomsen's Sound Pack V3.2cg...
I forgot and just assumed I used your mod, which I did in the past but not since my last clean install after I didn't play the game for a while.
Please forgive me for wasting your time, I will try to get my stuff together next time I ask a question.

Not a problem. I'm relieved I wasn't going crazy. Well, I am, but the little things can be scary. Time spent talking to someone is never wasted.
