Yea my hydrophone guy is a deaf/mute. Doesn't call out any contacts or nothing. I get no warning that a destroyer is in the immediate area except for my look out on the conning tower.

Can this be fixed in the steam version of the game? I got some mods, but I think I read in a thread addressing this issue that it requires me owning the DVD version, and the Steam version of the game is rather unmoddable.

Or do you think I should buy the DVD version? For that matter, do you think mods will work better if I had the DVD version than the Steam version? Sucks that I blew $20 on this game just to have to rebuy it to make it somewhat playable.

I have the steam version but to do not have this issue. I think the Open Horizons mod fixes it..

I use equiment fix, fx update and open horizons and a few misc mods

It can't be fixed for the steam version.. hydrophone fix is included in the Generic Patcher by TDW, the main thing that was made for this game, in my opinion..
This app works with the regular .exe only and doesn't work with the steam .exe.. without those patches your game will be still bugged and it doesn't matter how much mods you installed..
You can buy DVD or downloadable version.. there is no difference..

I bought the DVD version just in case, because I saw a TDW post that said the Steam version was much harder to do mods on.

Ok issue #2.

Im trying to mod my HUD or "User Interface" aka UI. Heres the deal, I downloaded the most downloaded HUD mod made by TDW in 2010, something like 13,000 downloads.

I install it using JSGME, and when I pull up the game, I don't have the 6 little crew members portraits at the bottom for me to talk to.

This poses a problem, I really want to play the game on realism.

Some of my mods are working, to test that I can install mods, I did Accurate Flags, and it clearly changed the flags in the subpen, as well as a weathered version of the subs exterior (I tried a reskin of the interior, I don't think that loaded up correctly or somethihng)

Heres my issue, some of my mods work, some don't. WIthout an upgraded HUD, realism is next to impossible, can anyone tell me if there was something I was doing wrong? I loaded them up in JGSME and I didn't get any messages that they would conflict with other mods.

Ill take a screenshot of my modlist later tonight to see if anyone can help.
