System requirements for SH5

Hello all, my first post here!

For a start, let me point out I am NOT a serious gamer; I own two games - C&C Generals and SH5 which I bought recently but haven't yet tried as my graphics card won't run it!

My PC runs an i5 processor on Win7 Home Premium. The card I had was a GeForce 210 which died a few days back. Currently just using the onboard graphics.

I am after some advice on the minimum spec card which will run SH5 properly. I want to keep it under $100 if I can. I've been looking at an AMD 7750 - someone suggested I need a 7770 and on it goes.

The best advice I got was to post here and ask the experts! Again I point out I don't want to pay for something I don't need. Thanks.

I can't give any real advice since I'm still running an eight year old single core Pentium with Windows XP. :dead:

SH5 is best with mods , so to play with all the mods and have great graphics you will need .
64bit os with 8 gigs of ram .
At least 3 gig processor .
At least 1 gig graphics card .
7750 will play it but 7770 would be better .

I would not recommend playing on on-board graphics, because they lack parts such as shaders (Intel HD series) and they have very few resources to use, to enjoy SH5 to the fullest, I recommend something like a GTX 570 (My own card) or better, mine is old but plays it well on max settings, but there are far better cards out there.

You should also use a dual core or better because it keeps the system off the core that is running the game allowing smoother gaming, you will also benefit from large amounts of RAM, I have 32GB and once the game is all loaded up, I can jump from save, to single mission to save in a few seconds because all the needed resources are in the RAM, SH5 uses 7GB of mine when fully expanded in my RAM.

In my opinion, the GPU is the most important part for SH5, it's the only bottleneck for my SH5 experience keeping my FPS at an average 60 FPS when not overclocked.

I have a GTX 560 Ti which runs SH5 perfectly, smoothly and with no stuttering or slideshow frame rates and that's with all graphic settings at max.

In the past ATI cards were better supported by SH5 than Nvidia ones. Their limit were shown by some graphical mods which were reportedly causing artifacts on Nvidia-fitted systems. Modern Nvida cards might be exempt from those issues though.
