View Full Version : Someone sabotaged my sub!

Being the ace captian that I am, I end my 3rd patrol completing the British Coastal Waters mission, and almost completing the 100,000 ton mission only to find the next patrol NBU wants me to do is to sneak in undetected and spy around Liverpool. (I'm sitting here thinking, "You do know this is a suiside mission, right?") Whatever, I start plotting a course for Liverpool and realize I have some points to spend on abilities. I go to my sonar guy get him up to speed on how we do things on my boat. I turn around to head for the conning tower but notice all the valves are spraying water! This does not sit well with me and as I look around all of my valves are doing this! I check my damage report and low and behold my hull integrity was at 46%! Mind you I've a very cautious skipper and have avoided all potential threats so far. Someone is clearly up to no good and has sabotaged my boat!
Actually what's happening is everytime I load the game while I'm at my home port my sub is submerged and eventually surfaces. I'm pretty sure it hit the bottom while 'bobbing'. I re-loaded my game and started my mission right away and was fine, no damage to hull. I was wndering if anyone else experianced this problem and if so is there a fix?

:haha:
I always appreciate when someone shows the needed degree of self-confidence.

Obviously not, though I am sure that a lesser prepared captain would have ignored these subtle symptoms of a boat flooding going on :03:

Are you really sure that you didn't hit a mine? :hmmm:

I have this happening too from time to time, but I have never noticed any damage on my boat. I am not an U-boat ace like you though :D

You can only call yourself an "Ace captain" if you dare taking a saboteur aboard :D
...on the other hand, spies are known for being double crossers :hmm2:

Must be a secret Open Horizons feature which only Trevally knows how to deactivate!

Nice one Trevally! You're way more of an ace than I am lol.
Mines. I never thought it could be those. Would have been nice if one of my officers had told me sooner! >,< Though the damage was applied the moment I started my next patrol.

By deafult, mines nd subnets are not detectablen neither by player nor by AI crew, but there is an OH's optional mod which makes them detectable.

Do you mean that you were still in port when you noticed the flooding? This would exclude mines as a possible reason obviously, and would render your theory (sub hitting the bottom) much more likely :hmmm:

Best to head back to the bunker so they can fix the sub . Just treat it as malfunctioning equipment . How often does this happen ?
