Crashing Problem with SH5

Hey All,

I've got a problem with SH5 crashing every time when
I try to load a saved game.

I uninstalled it twice and reinstalled. I've tried it with my mods,
and without any mods at all. Today I uninstalled both Sh4 and SH5 again,
deleted the folders, ran Cleaner and cleaned registry etc. Then I defragged
the HDD, and reinstalled and the damn thing still won't work grrrr.

It used to work fine until I got a few bad sectors, but now it just won't
work at all. Now I'm completely stumped, and just have no idea how to
get it to work.

What's worse is I bough the Uboat addon for Sh4 and the property.dll is giving malware reports. I'm talking with Ubisoft about this but it takes a long time to get a response. Problem is now, SH4 won't work either with mods.

So I can't get any SH fun at all, and am becoming very frustrated.

Anyone have any suggestions I can try to get SH5 to work. Sh4 reinstalled stock patch 1.4 I think is a mod issue. I can work that out, but I'm completely stumped with SH5 and need some help please.

If it only crashes when loading a save, that save is probably corrupt. If it doesnt load at all, there's probably an error being thrown .. without that error, it's sortof hard to tell what's going on ..

Did you delete/rename the My Documents\SH5 folder ? Rename if you wanna keep the saves for some reason, but if it works after renaming that folder, your saves are corrupt or your modlist now vs pre-crash is not identical enough and causing the errors.

Disclaimer: I'm pretty new to SH5 and my knowledge is limited on the topic.

heya m8 if u change the mod list or add some mods to your mod list and try to load the save game will crash not with all mods but almost with all ....it's better to start a new campaign when u add or remove some mods from the list...

Thanks I'll try that. The save games did have mods in them,
and I had a copy of text file of my mod list though it seemed
different to the mods in my download/mod folder so now I'm
not sure if I have the original mods.

I didn't rename docs/sh5 folder.

Thanks for the info, I'll try it with starting a new campaign and
see if that solves the issue.
