I can tell that we are getting close to the end of the Fiscal Year.

90 reams of paper appeared next to our copier when for the past few months we were lucky to have one.

We have a full replacement (several actually) of toner cartridges for our printers, when a few months ago half of them were turned off due to lack of supplies.

Our office supply cabinet is stocked to overflowing with every imaginable colour and type of pen when a month ago I had to hunt for a pen to borrow.

Yup, end of the fiscal year and my company has to quickly spend its left over budget so it does not get cut next year. :/\\!!

Thank you, tax payers, for refilling my trough. :/\\!!:/\\!!

Sounds like Údarás na Gaeltachta, spend nothing all year then throw it all away on any silly project to make sure its all used up.

Is usually the case here in the UK...be tight with the budget all year but spend any underspend at the end or risk a cut in the following year.

Pseudo logic.

Typically a public service practice. Never seen this in the private sector. Your budget gets cut there at the beginning of the fiscal year and you don't get to spend anything.
