Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts and good wishes!

I celebrated in style by drinking (most of) what was possibly the world's largest strawberry margarita, which resulted in me not remembering much about how I got home (don't worry, I wasn't driving), then going to bed for about four hours until the room stopped spinning.

The other highlight was treating myself to a Game of Thrones season 2 marathon.

Sadly I must confess that I did not get much in the way of noteworthy DIY projects done around the place during my week of vacation. I knew I was getting a Lowe's gift card for my b-day and I hated to go spend money there on stuff I'd be able to get for free if I put it off for a bit longer. Got a couple things done that I already had the stuff for though.

Anyway it was back to work and the regular routine today. :dead:

Also hate that, but learned a good trick from my father: just tie a leg bed to something. I guarantee that it works! :D

Lol, I really meant to go online and post drunk because I laugh so hard reading the stuff later after I've sobered up. But I literally could not operate the keyboard or mouse, that's how messed up I was.

First of all my brother in law told me to go ahead and get the "big" margarita cuz it was my birthday, and I say "alright" because how big could it be?

Well, it took an extra waiter carrying it in both hands just to bring it to the table, and he sat it down and looked at me and looked at it and said "Sweet Jesus" and just walked away chuckling. :haha:

The bowl of this glass was about 6" across and probably 4-5" inches deep in the center and it was FULL right up to the brim.

Then to top it off at the end of the meal they put a sombrero on my head and brought me my "birthday shot" of tequila. Which I drank despite being already three sheets to the wind because why not?

I never had straight tequila before. I will probably never have it again. :O:

This restaurant is a very good, authentic Mexican joint (by which I mean it's where ALL the Mexican immigrants get their fix of real Mexican food) and my sister and her husband go there two or three times a month and for most special occasions. My sister said in all these years she's never seen them bring out a sombrero and free shot for a birthday so she didn't know what was up with that. I suspect it had something to do with the fact that it was the slow part of a Saturday afternoon, there was nobody else in the place but us, and "us" included me getting progressively more and more drunk and maybe the staff thought it would be amusing to see how stupid I could get given half a chance. :har:

Well, that's generally what happens when you consume your body weight in tequila on a mostly empty stomach. Temporarily, at least. The pain comes later. :O:

Speaking of drinking a lot....

I'm working at the District Fair in town this week...I saw a lady tonight who was obviously completely drunk. She got on a mechanical bull ride.

Barely able to stand up, she got on that thing... It was hilarious. She kept falling even though it was barely moving. :rotfl2:

when FK didn't reply the first day I wanted to write: she must be lying in tequila vomit being unconsciously drunk.
Eventually I didn't post it cuz I didn't want to be rude.

Depends what one considers old. Then again, if you wearing Depends you are probably old. If you turn on the dryer and did not remember to put the newly cleaned clothing in to dry your getting there!

My best fight speech was "I spent two years as captain of my high school track team. If your first punch doesn't lay me out, you'll never catch me for a second one."

These days I stick my chest out and let him know where we stand. Usually something along the lines of "Please don't hurt me! I'm between insurance agents!"
