Hello All,

I am using Sober's mod list (sans real nav) and have just started the first set of missions and am trying to finish the coastal patrol of Britain. Anywho, I spot aircraft ALL day long and kept diving to evade but noticed that none of them attempted to fire or drop cans...so I surfaced and remained surfaced through numerous aircraft sightings and NONE of them attacked me. Is this normal? And yes, I have IRAI enabled!

What kind of planes was it? Could they attack?
Anyway, seems an issue with latest IRAI...hoping TDW could revisit his mod.

Honestly couldn't tell you what kind of planes they were (I have a hard enough time identifying vessels! :haha:) But they were usually flying in formations of 2's.

I was also just looking over the IRAI post by TDW and one of the things mentioned is that ALL aircraft have the ability to attack, is this true? If so then something isn't right with my game.

IRAI v0.39 has some errors.. better to use v0.37.. in the v0.37 all the aircraft attack your boat..

Thanks volodya maybe I'll revert to that. Another questions, I'm running OHII (obviously) and I thought that while running OHII the missions are more patrol based than tonnage based but the mission status bar only fills when I sink ships. That normal?

I can confirm it. It's not that with v .39 airplanes don't use their payloads; they do it, but for some reason they have an harder time dropping their bombs, and they often need for several attack runs, which gives you time enough to down them or to crash dive unharmed.

IIRC from my discussions with Trevally, the only possible condition for passing campaign objectives is sinking ships (either in therms of number of ships sunk or of tonnage sunk). This is a limit of the game, and Trevally can only hide sinking requirement to obviate it.
Mission passing conditions are much more flexible, and they include dropping spies/supplies, patrolling a given area for n hours, reckoning/reporting targets, designed units surviving, etc. I think that OH makes good use of all of them
