Hi.. I'm having a problem with my game crashing which I think is due to missing and corrupt files. I thought I might get away with it.. but no ways.

I tried downloading the effected mods a few times but it's made no difference, so my last resort is if someone can help me with these files:

Corrupt files
Mod: Equipment_Upgrades_Fix_v1_4_byTheBeast
File: ../data/menu/skins/german/gui/upgrade/Periscope.dds
File: ../data/menu/skins/german/gui/upgrade/ObsPeriscope.dds

Missing file
Mod: Unknown as I cannot find the mod that holds this file, at the moment
File: ../data/menu/gui/RecManual/CovFlagWorld.dds

Thanks for any links and help

I don't think it crashes due of these files..

I tried downloading the effected mods a few times but it's made no difference, so my last resort is if someone can help me with these files:

Use 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to extract files.. it's the best choice for long names in the archives..

Corrupt files
Mod: Equipment_Upgrades_Fix_v1_4_byTheBeast
File: ../data/menu/skins/german/gui/upgrade/Periscope.dds
File: ../data/menu/skins/german/gui/upgrade/ObsPeriscope.dds

File: ../data/menu/gui/RecManual/CovFlagWorld.dds

You don't need this file.. and better to disable Enables game messages to be displayed in-game (FOR ADVANCED USERS!) patch in the Generic Patcher.. Trevally promised to look at this issue later because this error message appears after OHII was enabled..

Thanks volodya61. Which 7-zip version are you using... those two files are still refusing to open in Photoshop 7 + DDS plugin, I have no problems with any other files. My OS is Win7 Pro. Thanks

Interesting :) I think I'll just make a dummy file for the time being and use that. Thanks Van

Hi, Kaleuns!

First of all i wanna take the opportunity to say a big "thank you" to all of the skilled ones who contributed on every single mod to make silent hunter 5 to what is is today.

It has been quite a long time since i played sh5 for the last time. Back in those days (it was 2012 i think) i enjoyed sobers mega mod listing alot.
Up to today again there has been done a lot of superb work by the community. So i actually am trying to get the updated sobers mod listing to run.

Following the updated instructions to do so i cant get it to work: after all the necessary mods are enabled via the jsgme i get numerous messages about files that cant be opened like:

http://imageshack.com/a/img843/4143/9cas.png

for example.

Enabling mod by mod according to sobers actual listing this one comes up after enabling "Equipment_Upgrades_Fix_v1_4_byTheBeast" .When facing the first loadscreen after starting the game the red statusbar suddenly freezes after some grogression. i then can

- hit ESC
the game loading continues like usual or

- hit the WINDOWS key
to face the previous shown message.

This is just one message out of the many i get when launching the game, starting a new career or a new patrol. I verified all these files are there but somehow cant be opened/loaded.

So maybe as a result of all this, for example, the mission screen after starting the first campaign doesnt look like sober stated to verify the successfull activation of his modlist.

It would be nice if someone could help me out here.

Thanks in advance, Kaleuns and for now best regards from Germany!

Before you enable any mod always right click on it with your mouse and select 'Explore.'

If you can see the 'Data Folder' then you have enabled the mod correctly.

If you cannot see the 'Data Folder' then the mod is probably sitting inside the 'Folder' you can see.

If you have already enabled the mods then do the following.

Go to: example C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Mods

Right click on the 'Mods Folder' and you should be looking at the 'Data Folder.'

If you can see the 'Data Folder' then the mod has been correctly enabled.

Hey, THEBERBSTER!

That is exactly what i am doing since its not the first time i am into all that moding stuff. I am aware of the folder structure issue thanks to stoianm's video tutorials.

Following Sobers and your very detailed instruction leads me to nowhere this time - i get multiple Load Errors alle the time. Even after downloading the Mods multiple times and turning off anti virus software (maybe totaly nonsense but who knows)

I will continue trying and I will give you a report if anything new happens.

But anyways thank you for your work on your HOW TO DOs, THEBERBSTER

For now best regards from Germany :salute:
