I get rather annoyed how the game reacts if I hit the windows key to minmize it when on patrol. Usually no problems, I know not to do this when submerged as it causes the stupid CO2 bug or the deck crew wont show up. However, lately I have noticed after doing this and trying to dive, say for an attack.I hit the silent running key but it does not engage silent running, which can be a problem when trying to evade after an attack.also, when I load a save, it messes up time.Example, i saved a game a 0400, it was dark as supposed to be, when i reloaded, it was daylight out, it throws time all over. dont get it, rather annyoing. prob issues cant be fixed but anyone know how?

I've always had that problem if I go out of the game, but if I have to go out, I engage silent running first, course then chance of CO2 bug, but rather deal with that as it's not an issue.

Thank you Bubbs, you just explained my time glitch. I was patroling Marshalls sometime last month, and suddenly dawn was at 3am & dusk was at 3pm. I actually wrote it down to look up and confirm it were not at all possible.

I don't get the CO2 bug unless I saved the game while I was submerged and load the save up. Though I do get the not being able to engage silent running one every time if I tab out while submerged.

Apparently, minimizing to desktop often enough corrupts the save game files.

Do you pause the game first?

Do you pause the game first?
No, should i?
It's worth a try.
I always pause, before I use the Win key, or Alt + Tab, and I've never had the CO2/related bugs.

If you do ANYTHING while in a multiplayer game ti breaks it. Any kind of change (email/IM recieved etc.) while server will dump everyone. Any kind of change as client will dump you from the server.
Single player I have not had any issues ALT-TAB. Of course I am using XP Pro SP3 which seems to do much better then 7 or 8.

Single player SH4 suffers at least from the well-documented CO2 bug when you ALT-TAB in-game. Pausing first does seem to help, but it's hard to know because the CO2 bug is intermittent. If you want to interrupt the game, best is to save first, then ALT-TAB from the main menu. At least you'll save the initial game load time.
