View Full Version : GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V5 campaign and GWX v3.0

Hello,

I use the GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V5 mod for GWX. I tried the whole campaign around the D-Day (June 1944), but in the channel are almost no (normal number) Allied aircraft and warships. I was expecting a huge number of aircraft, but sometimes I do not need use the Schnorchel due to the small number of aircraft.

Otherwise on the coast of Normandy are landing craft, 1x aircraft carrier, 1x auxiliary cruiser, but no allied destroyers. Then there is no problem to sink these static vessels. The only aircraft, I saw near Normandy coast, were elderly Hawker Hurricane IIC.
The campaign in a "standard" GWX Gold version ist the same or another as with the GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V5 mod? Why is not in the channel a large number of allied aircraft and warships in June 1944 (after the D-Day)?

I'm pretty sure that the Wilhelmshaven mod only changes harbors at the ports mentioned in the title. It puts gates into the locks in the Kiel Canal and those harbors. It doesn't affect the D-Day files at all. That will be strictly a GWX function, and if I remember correctly there are a lot of ships there. Possibly another mod is overwriting those files?

Use the Mission Editor to open the SH3 Map and look at the Normandy area. Every ship that appears any time during the war will be there, and you can see what's there and what isn't.

Also, why are you using version 5 when v.6 is so much better, and v.7 better still?

So why I meet in the channel almost no enemy planes? I expected a huge number of aircraft that will not let me sail surfaced, but the opposite is true.

I use the version 5, because it recommends Ace in this mods list for Ace´s Superturms:

I can't find V.6 or V.7 in the downloads section...any suggestions, Steve?

What Time Compression are you using? Too high a TC can result in never meeting planes. Other than that I don't know. Jimbuna might have the answer.

I think that when Ace's Superturms came out v.5 was the newest version. The other two came out later, but should work as well.

Your _SCR looks very light for D Day.
What mods do you have enabled and what does your _RND look like?

OK, I reinstall now my SHIII game.

Can I use your newest mod WB's Ultimate Ship and Aircraft Mod v11.61.2 with St Nazaire mod v7?

_RND looks OK and I double checked: _SCR also looks OK.

You should be able to run USAM with v7 but I used v6 as I think I missed v7 when it came out. I'm not sure what the differences are (downloading v7 now thanks to Sepp's links). The latest version of USAM is 11.61.3 (http://www.mediafire.com/download/77gmu3q3y7bs548/WB's_USAM_v11.61.3.rar)

I'm not sure what the differences are
V.6 was v.5 with the Kiel bridges from LSH3 added in. V.7 uses LSH3's complete Kiel Harbor, which looks vastly different from GWX's. There may be other changes, but I think that's it. Both were done by Bigboywooly at my request. I sent him pictures of the bridges and he took it from there. Placement is not 100% accurate because the Canal is only a few pixels wide and the bends in the Canal cannot be duplicated properly.

With version 7 browse the museum. If you get a CTD trying to go past Germany you will need to fix the SMS Schleswig-Holstein.
I'd say look at that in the German Roster before going past Germany in Museum.
It's whacked in my install.
