View Full Version : External HDD Drive
Finally decided to get one, since backuping all that matter on my PC is becoming a slow/laggy process and due to my latest virus enconter, decided not wait longer.
Going for a 1TB disk, since that would do and they are the more affordable.
But now, what brand? Toshiba or western digital? or seagate?
Any one has some advice?

I am going to suggest you don't do 1TB. For a third more in price you can double the storage. WD and Seagate both have 2TB drives under $100 bucks.
The reason you should consider 2TB is simple - 1TB is good for what you need today. What about a year from now? 3Yrs?
With storage purchases, always look at the needs of "tomorrow" vs the needs of "today". The money you save in the long run is well worth the $35 dollars today.

I already went through that. It didn't take long before my 1TB drive wasn't enough. It's been about a year since I bought a 2 TB drive, and I finally levelled off at about 1.5 TB. I still add something every now and then, but the 2 TB drive should hold me for a good long while.
