New to SH4 - blank screen on campaign mode

Hi , there
I am new to SH4 - (addicted to SH3 + GWX)
Any way , I wanted to try SH4 , so I installed , upgraded to v1.5 Uboot missions add on and installed the following mods:
Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[D:\SILENT HUNTER 4\MODS]
1_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
Ship pack 1
(1) RUIM v1.0 for SH4v1.5
(2) RUIM v1.0 for SH4v1.5 Enlisted Ranks add-on
(3) RUIM v1.0 for SH4v1.5 Awards add-on

Submarine school missions run OK
Museum OK
But when I decided to start a campaign:

I am sorry if this has been adressed elsewhere but my search came fruitless.

And another stupid question (feeling embarrased) : When - in training - I press the "man the deck gun" or "man the AA guns" nothing happens. I mean noone moves there.
Running windows 7 ultimate 64bit SP1
RAM : 4GB
Intel core 2 duo CPU E8400 @3.00GHz
NVidia GeForce GTX 460

Note that a heavily modded SH3+GWX runs perfectly on the same machine.

I don't know what RUIM is, but have you tried removing it [them] and just running TMO - if that doesn't work, then maybe you have a corrupted download - if it does then it looks like one of the RUIM modules is causing a conflict

What Vino says...

About "man the deck gun", you have to go into crew managment and place them in the slots yourself... don't forget to put them back afterwards... Wouldn't want to lose a portion of your crew when diving to PD

You won't drown them if you dive with them in the deck gun slots, but they'll die in their bunks if the deck gun gets damaged by depth charges....

The screen trouble just fixed itself after exiting and reloading the game.

So, for the deck and AA guns the "man the deck gun" order is useless in SH4!

I am still learning here.
The interface is much more different that SH3.

Glad the problem went away :)

The Man the deck gun command isn't useless. you have to put people in the deck gun slots it's true - and they'll automatically man the gun at action stations - but if you don't want to go to action stations and still shoot stuff, then you can deploy your gun crew with that command, while the rest of the crew goes about their business
