well i have done a full uninstall of GWX after looking at LSH.

Could not get LSH to load even with patches etc.

Gave up and then tried running under compatibility mode (windows xp service pack 3) and low and behold it started, albeit after a long load. GWX does take less time to load.
Anyway it has been running quite well apart from one hitch on my third patrol were LSH radios to say enter Scapa Flow. For some odd reason I kept getting CTD's.
Before giving up I tried a load from "in base before mission" and this time it worked.

I completed Scapa and was very impressed, I played GWX for years and have been playing SH4 and SH5 and I thought I'd revisit SH3 so I had never come across LSH.

GWX is brilliant but get this in LSH.... I just picked up my new sub from the training school, each time you swap to a "new sub" (not upgrading your equipment) you must do a shakedown before re-joining your flotilla.
Well I had to manoeuvre her from alongside two other moored subs, slight scrape to the paint work... and then proceeded down the BOUYED channel to sea.

I am sold LSH is excellent, I like the radio messages, if you are in the right place at the right time then you can do these "special missions" or just play like GWX.

It's GWX with bells on and the sugar mice.

I am impressed.

If you are thinking of trying it then I would give it a go. Be warned it does take longer to load ...much longer, the harbours are busy but beautiful, lock gates that you must wait to open whilst the RAF are bombing the harbour, your flack gunner is pouring water on the barrel and everything in the place is going bananas. and that was on my second patrol!! before getting to sea.

I have spent a lot of time setting up the graphics to get it to run smoothly but well worth the fiddle about, once your out on the ocean wave the FPS is excellent.

Great MOD

Looking forward to seeing the frozen harbour add on at the start of my next patrol 13th December 1939

It appears you have had some problems with LSH that are not typical. A lot of people around this forum use LSH and there are not a lot of reports of problems, so I'd guess the mod itself is not defective. I have LSH installed (along with GWX and NYGM), although I haven't played it much. For me, it went in clean and gave no problems setting up. I assume you did a complete uninstall of GWX-SH3, then reinstalled SH3 and loaded LSH? Once you install GWX, your stock SH3 installation is permanently altered and can't be used for anything else. I've found the best way to try various megamods is to make a clean install of SH3, patched to v1.4. Then make a copy of the complete game folder, use multiSH3 to create a separate savegame folder, and add your mods to the copy. That way, you don't get any interference from a previous mod, and you always have a clean install to revert to if (when) you need it. All you sacrifice is some disk space.

I can't speak for the features of LSH, but I know people like it - and it is active and a new version is under development. If you are interested in finding out what it is about, I'd suggest it might be worth another try.
