These lads have quite the job ahead of them. Their mission statement:
"We hope to make this traverse (Northwest passage Inuvik, NWT through Tuktoyaktuk, NWT to Pond Inlet, Nunavut) solely under human power in a row boat, without sail or motor, in a single season all to bring awareness to the profound changes climate change is having on the arctic.":

Looks like the lads picked a bad year to attempt this. Right now the Arctic is experiencing a unprecedented(based on 34 years of record keeping) 9 day pause in melting of the sea ice extent. They are at least a month behind their scheduled end date.
