CTD After TWD SH5 Patcher

Hello,

After installing the SH5 patcher (letting it modify the files) and not enabling any of the fixes, the games crashes to the desktop. I've tried enabling some of the fixes by restoring other users snapshots, and it makes the changes but the game still crashes. I've restored the 7 files it modifies and tried again and everything works.

I'm at 1.2 (stock other than this) and I'm not using Steam. Any ideas?

I KNOW it won't be of much help, but something similar happened to me after fighting with the damn game and mod soups for 8 hours. After applying the patch, pouf, it was a CTD everytime.

I even backuped my files, unplugged all the mods and reversed it to a fresh 1.2 it just wouldn't work. I had to uninstall and reinstall again.

On the bright side, after 4 more hours and realizing that my OH mod was corrupted, I FINALLY got the game to work, and the patch had nothing to do about the CTD. Mysteries.

I just advise you to reinstall the game and the mods (follow the sober's mod soup an instrucctions, they will work... eventually). Oh, and another thing, the second time I didn't use snapshots, just keep on trying step by step: no fixes, Hydrophone fix, and so on and so on. And use the patcher as a stand-alone, do not enable it with JGME. With this game you have to have patiente, otherwise, it just won't work.

You see, I KNEW this wouldn't help.

Are there any other requirements for the patcher? I'm stock and decided to start modifying my game with this... I'm not sure what else to do :\

First, if you run SH5 with steam, the patcher is useless.
Second, you don't need mods to run it...except if you activate torpedos patches. If so, you'll need torpedos mods compatible patcher (inside MODS folder of patcher).
Third, don't activate all the patches. Some will give you CTDs.
Fourth, read carefully all notes related to patches!

Did you search for help on the SH5 TDW patcher thread under SH5 Mods workshop first? If not, that is where you should be asking for help first. Patcher is up to v1.0.147.0 now, what version do you have?
