Just one question, and please do not laugh !!

I am trying to find which SH3 Disk (DVD) I have:
the Reloaded hacked SH3.exe,
or
the StarForce free SH3.exe from Ubi,

To install the 4GB patch....

How do I do that ?

Go to Ubisoft folder, open root folder, right click on SH3 icon, select Properties then click on the Details tab and look at product version.

Go to Ubisoft folder, open root folder, right click on SH3 icon, select Properties then click on the Details tab and look at product version.Yes, that shows the game version. But does the hacked file show a different version from the Ubisoft one? I doubt it.

To know if the SH3.exe is one or the other you need the original hacked file, and the original (patched) 1.4 file. (Always keep backup originals!) Checking the filesize in bytes is not always a guarantee. But in this case it is.

The reloaded hacked SH3.exe is about 2.3 MB. My starforce free 1.4.0.1 (EMEA region) SH3.exe is about 1.26 MB

The 4GB patch slightly modifies the executable. But I don't know if it changes the filesize, or if it just flips a bit around.
