Just curious how wolfpacks work in SH 5. Have been searching for videos but have not found any. Do they always form up on a convoy you report? Do they attack the convoy ? Do you see them etc? Always something I have missed with SH 4, is having US subs form wolfpacks as they did in later war.Have inserted some into my mod I am creating using AI fleetboats but they currently have no means of attack, they simply act as great distractions while I attack.

if you enable the patch in my Generic Patcher for wolfpacks then yes, you can possibly get 1-4 subs dispatched to your location when you submit a contact report. The subs will attack with torpedoes and yes you can visually see them. They are just like any other unit in the game and each act alone.

Not exactly... didn't you enable group strategies for the destroyers, with IRAI? :03:

The subs dispatched all work as individual units. The illusion of group attack is because of the waypoints I gave them.
I need to rewrite that patch because my knowledge of the game has grown tremendously :yep: Now I can give them the contact that you designate. Much better than just giving them waypoints to the area

There are also wolfpack missions within OHII for some objectives.
These are scripted in and require you to do some pack tasks.
Report, shadow, contact keeper and attack.
IRAI is required too:yep:
