Hello everyone!

After not having played SH4 for years, I dug up my old copy that I purchased some years ago through the, back then, Direct2drive. After installing it, (SH4 with the uboat mis. add on), I need to activate it, this is where I should point out that the computer I use for gaming does NOT have internet connection, sorry that's the way it is, some of us haven't quite settled in the so called 21st century. Anyway, since this is the case I have to do this manually, but here comes the problem, when typing in the activation code that came with the download, I get a not valid message. What the freaking h... am I supposed to do?

Off the top of my head I'd say that you're trying to eat your cake and keep it too, no offence. I'm all for buying, installing and playing offline but you're talking about a 'downloaded' game so you should reasonably expect to need to be online to activate it.

Just my two-bobs worth. Sorry but can't offer any help, other than to say that the DVD is very cheap! :03:

no offense taken and I'm sure the same goes for you when I say that some of us happen to live, or have lived, in countries where the DVD version was not purchasable and download was the only option, hell, I even had to get it through a US citizen to purchase the download :arrgh!:

apart from this, even software that is bought online ought to work, even years afterwards, just like a "normal" piece of software on a dvd, cd whatever does

but thanks for your 2 bobs anyway

I would try to contact someone from the company you bought it from. I'm sure you're not the only one who is in this situation. They should be able to help you figure something out.

im no help at all but this is exactly why I never buy downloaded games, this same issue always comes up at some point and good luck getting help from companies you purchased from months or years ago.

only thought I have is try the code before you update anything, maybe an update is confusing it.

if there is any good side to this bad news is you can buy the game on disk this time and not have to deal with the download anymore

Well :hmmm: yes. Thanks very much all of you for your answers, I guess I have to accept it the way it is.
