Hi I have re-installed SH3 in steam but it keeps Crashing to Desktop. I am running Vista Home Premium. 64 Bit. The computer specs far exceed the requirements to run the game.
I have had it working before. I had GWX 3.0 and mods but have deleted them all and run a fresh install. (Redownloaded the game)
Any thing I may have overlooked?
EDIT. It comes up with a message. that it has stopped working. Happens when I start a mission by clicking on the map on the wall.

some times things get burried :P and it is saturday activity is often low anyways
as to your issue did you clead the registry clean after the uninstall?

And while you are at it, try not to install the game in a folder in Program Files. But since you have a Steam published SH3 you may not be able to. (Steam does allow to specify a custom place for games to be installed to, but that should have been set up before any other Steam-game was installed. It might be too late already) Then you have to run the game as Administrator.

what you can do with steam though IIRC is specify where it (steam) installs to however i have not tested it and probably won't for a couple more months.

Thanks for the help. I did not clean the registry after i uninstalled it. My bad.

I've installed sh3 1.4 (dvd) with mods on another drive, but still no luck finding the bugger!!!
