View Full Version : Overly Sensity Depth controller

I have a problem, that is when I for example, order a depth of 40 meters, I will just fall and eventually either reach crush depth, or slam into the sea floor, it is interfering with my operations, I have never experienced a problem like this before.
And my stop sinking order (Maintain depth) Is usually non responsive and I keep dropping.
I have to blow ballast and that leaves me in the firing line of the Destroyers hunting me.
Is there any help I can get for this?

I have seen posts of similar problems here at SubSim. While I don't recall the cause, I'm pretty sure that others have posted solutions for this. You might want to google and see what turns up. Are you initiating the dive with a Crash Dive order, rather than just Dive? IIRC that can lead to unstoppable descents.

I was just ordering a depth with the depth gauge.

It took me ages to put this one together, but it doesn't CTD so its OK to that aspect, but I never had this sinking issue on my last install.

To my knowledge, the only mods in your list which could potentially interfere with diving depth, are MightyFine Crew Mod and the Depth Keeping Problem fix. Try disabling them and see what happens :hmmm:

It's useless Gabriele.. wrong order http://s19.postimg.org/qbw15hmgv/facepalm.gif.. and many useless mods which aren't working at all.. as I pointed out earlier..
It makes no sense to disable Depth Keeping because all its files are overwritten by Stoianm pitch&roll at first and then by NewUIs once more time.. etc..
It's very difficult to understand (impossible for me) what principle was used to build this list.. I don't see any principle and sense in this order and list..

Well, I could just stop playing, because this really seems to be making you uneasy, whenever I post, you seem to come along and turn people against me, and provide nothing constructive. From what I gather, you have some form of grudge against me, you always seem to point out flaws, publicize problems, and make me look like an outright fool. The one question left unanswered is, What did I do to hurt you? what did I do to upset you? I cannot work it out, I cannot work out why so disrespect me so much, it has me wondering whenever I even think about Subsim.

Don't worry, I have moved most of my forum activity elsewhere, that should have me out of your hair forever.
I have stopped modding entirely because what ever I create is "Harmful" and "Unwanted" (Your own words)
I have also moved most my forum activity to other forums where my work and efforts are not "Useless" and "Garbage" (Again, your own words)

I am not sure what to do with my newly acquired spare time, and the current modding work that I have been working on will remain unreleased to spare Volodya the task of dissecting it and shouting out what is wrong, and how the creator has "No idea what he is even doing"
If my work gets such a reception here, how will it fare anywhere else?
(If you want proof of these quotes I will link them to you)
This clearly shows that my work is not appreciated.
And all I wanted to do is play the game.
Oh well, I have not used Sh5 for quite a while, and I think I might just leave the box back in the drawer go mod other games.

Thank you Volodya you have relieved me of my service here.

All that I've done, I've mentioned about your mistakes.. repeatedly..
I'm happy when someone points out my mistakes..
You prefer to perceive it as a personal insult instead of correcting these mistakes..
This is your choice..
Bon chance..

Don't take Volodya's comments personally. You know, he is coming from the harsh Russian steppes and he can be rough sometimes, but he is a good pal after all :D

Talking about your mod list, I think that what Volodya meant is that you should avoid using mods which are overwriting each other's files. If you just need to, make sure that the JSGME conflicting mods don't alter vital settings of each other or, better, merge their settings file by file. Another good principle is to build your personal set of mods around a well known and safe mod list (as sober's, fifi's or Sjizzle's ones) and to customise it by removing mods you won't need or by adding new mods one by one.

The number of mods available for SH5 has become considerable by now, and dissecting long mod lists would require a big effort even by expert and wishing-to-help subsim members. Going by memory is not always easy, and giving reliable answers would require to check which files are affected by each mod, and which settings were altered in each file.

P.S: have you tried my suggestion?
