But this time it happened in Nigeria, where 29 children and 1 teacher were slaughtered.

" Islamic militants attacked a boarding school before dawn Saturday, dousing a dormitory in fuel and lighting it ablaze as students slept, survivors said. At least 30 people were killed in the deadliest attack yet on schools in Nigeria's embattled northeast.
Authorities blamed the violence on Boko Haram, a radical group whose name means "Western education is sacrilege." The militants have been behind a series of recent attacks on schools in the region, including one in which gunmen opened fire on children taking exams in a classroom.

"We were sleeping when we heard gunshots. When I woke up, someone was pointing a gun at me," Musa Hassan, 15, told The Associated Press of the assault on Government Secondary School in Mamudo village in Yobe state.
He put his arm up in defense, and suffered a gunshot that blew off all four fingers on his right hand, the one he uses to write. His life was spared when the militants moved on after shooting him.
Hassan recalled how the gunmen came armed with jerry cans of fuel that they used to torch the school's administrative block and one of the dormitories.
"They burned the children alive," he said, the horror showing in his wide eyes.
He and teachers at the morgue said dozens of children from the 1,200-student school escaped into the bush but have not been seen since.
On Saturday, at the morgue of Potiskum General Hospital, a few miles from the scene of the attack, parents screamed in anguish as they attempted to identify the victims, many charred beyond recognition. Some parents do not know if their children survived or died.
Farmer Malam Abdullahi found the bodies of two of his sons, a 10-year-old shot in the back as he apparently tried to run away, and a 12-year-old shot in the chest"

I would not have one single problem with being the executioner of those who did this. Killing innocent children, no matter what country they live in,is about as low as a human being can get. These clowns(that did this) can stick their religion and their customs right where it fits!

Propaganda!
Single word answer.
If you feed people enough propaganda and brainwash them enough to believe that they're working for a higher being then they'll pretty much do anything. It doesn't even necessarily have to be a religion/god. I guess we've shown that pretty well a couple of decades ago...:/\\!!

I take your point but there are many other examples :yep:

Mass murder seems common place in areas like that.
The difference seems to be that something like that when close to home makes the News People get all lumpy inside or something.

You'll sell more papers and ad space here in the U.S.A. with a local that whacks 3 kids then any actions elsewhere in the World.

Yes, air travel is a more "serious" risk that the public can readily identify with and is close to home (wherever that may be). The media will be concerned over the crash, is it an isolated incident or is the airframe vulnerable which will have wider ramifications that could effect business travel and tourism.

I'd like to see the 'real' numbers presented just once.

Say take number of flights and passengers compaired to just registered firearms and the number of people they are near!

Then do the fatal statistics from there.
I'd bet that would be an eye opener as to what is more dangerous!

Not quite answering your question, but some of the statistics on aircraft and passenger incidents are interesting. :ping: Have a look at the Plane Crash Info website:

In one word? Quran. Not hard to understand at all.

Maybe you do not want to understand it...!? :hmmm: No attack meant. But wanting to point out an important psychological detail that plays an important role in Western attitude towards Islam, and religious fundamentalism: the denial of unwanted realities and the rejection to fully see what human thinking is able to come up with. In good. And in evil. Nevertheless, the latter is human nature as well.

Interesting is the churches' reaction to the ongoing masskillings of Christians in Nigeria: silence. I assume it is "weakness is a virtue" and "happy is who gets murdered early for he finds entrance into heaven earlier", and all that Christian bollocks. :hmph:

If he was correct what made those "people" in Rwanda tick?
Not wanting to do a Godwin, but what made the germans slaughter innocent children because of their religion?
The answer to what makes these people tick is that people can be evil and can be "made" to commit atrocities by other people claiming they have an answer to their problems.

Drop the religion part as that is just a symptom of the make up of humanity.

We are born and bred killers, with a herd mentality.
We try to justify anything we do with all kinds of BS and to the victor go the spoils.

Skybird is German so is automatic suspect because others say so.
Gotta watch Jim cause he was a Cop in GB and we all know you can't trust a Cop. And since he's over there? Can't really trust him.
I've seen a few people from alot of different Countries here that should be suspect based on what I'm told everyday on TV.

I've never read that Koran thing, nor that Bible thing you all speak off.
I could not care less about those 'books' until one steps forwards and proves they are not fiction!

We are animals that take domains in any way we can.
We are only different in that we attempt to explain our actions.
