The Foxtrot has always been one of my favorites. This one is in ratty shape though.Isn't there one in San Francisco or San Diego that you can tour?

Russian Foxtrot class diesel-electric attack submarine B-39 is a museum piece displayed at the Maritime Museum in San Diego, CA. Decommissioned in 1994, arrived in US in 2005.

very nice.

Interesting to see that the look of the instruments matches up with the interface for the "Kilo" and "Akula" class in DW. I seem to recall that designers had visited the sub for that purpose.

I'm pretty sure this is the same sub that was in Seattle.

There are two known as B-39 but as far as I am aware they are different vessels.

If I remember the story correctly, one of the volunteers showed me what poor condition the sub was in (at the time) and the Coast Guard had a big time problem with that:dead:. I think that was the reason the sub left Seattle. ...And that same sub used to be in Vancouver BC and it left there, because it was too expensive to maintain.
