British Pathè, famous for their black and white news footage from years gone by, have a YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/britishpathe?feature=watch) channel.
What amazed me was this footage of test pilot John Derry's fatal crash at Farnborough in 1952, not so much the crash as I've seen it many times before, but the response from the crowd. Solemn silence, no running away, not hysteria like you see in today's airshow crashes.
