Im really unpleasant for writing this thread but i have no option..
The thing is i already got Gpu and Ram from Fubar2Niner:) (6 months ago)
and still havent installed it.
Problem is i dont have PSU that can run it,and i dont have money to buy it.
because here in Croatia wages are very small, most common wages in Croatia are just 450 euros,(Iam unemployed)
And i just dont have money to afford psu because i need money for more important things( like food,cloth.etc... )
And you know what guys?
Croatia entered European union today!
And if iam correct there are no more customs and taxes between european union and Croatia as we are part of EU now :)
So im asking if anyone gots PSU good enough/reliable for Nvidia 8800gtx( need to be over 450W i think with 20amps on +12v) to send as gift?
Im very unpleasant to beg/ask for this but i really, really want to play Silent Hunter 3! i cant play it on stupid gma 3100 integrated graphics :wah:

Hi Toni007
Good to hear from you, I don't think I've a suitable PSU but will check.
If someone has one in the meantime . . . :hmmm:

I will see if i have a spare... unfortunately i am in America so the price of a new power supply would probably be what it would cost shipping will look into it. what all will you/ do you have in your system as you may need more than 430watts.

Yeah America is far,far away from me,and Croatia is only tax and custom free when someone sent package from European union,i still need to play customs and taxes if someone sents from USA.
So this is my system,
Intel Dual Core 2.2 GhZ
2GB of RAM
Intel gma 3100 256mb
PSU 300 watts unbranded with 16amp on +12v rail
So basicly i need PSU powerful enough for Nvidia 8800GTX ( i got it from Fubar2Niner ) and i think 430 watts should be enough with 20+ampers on +12v rail.( Corsair cx430 matches this )
Im really unpleasant to ask for sending me package, but im unemployed for more than one year, and my family, all money we spent for food and bills, and most common sailaries here are 450 euros only (where in coutries like germany its 2000 euros)
And i cant play Silent Hunter 3 on gma 3100,it lags like hell :wah:

i would probably suggest 500+ watt PSU for safe measure the only reason being is that gives you more room to expand in the future.

Yea but i don't have money, and im not sure anyone here would be willing to send it as 500+ are fairly expensive.
Unless its collecting dust,
so if anyone has spare PSU to send
i would appreciate it.

anyone? :sunny:

Come on folks, any of us European's fancy helping a brother out with a PSU you may just have lying around gathering dust.
Maybe, because PSUs are relatively heavy items, you fear posting it may be very expensive (as was the stuff Fubar2Niner sent to Toni007 - P&P was split three ways to alleviate), maybe if one volunteers their spare PSU then others can contribute to the postage?
Who knows? All I know is Subsim.com is an excellent community and it can be done. :yeah:

takes time. unfortunatly I have a 400W one but it went to an old non demanding system so it will be unsuited for anything built/ designed in the past 7 years or so thats why I haven't spoken up.

takes time.
It does. Toni, if you can recall the time taken from first asking for a graphics card to someone saying yes, and then picking it up from the post office - it was some months.
Be patient. :sunny:

You get as many as you can, the bigger and quieter the better. Post pics/details of your case mate. Also pay attention to airflow, you don't want them all fighting each other !
Best regards.

Looks like room for at least 2 fans there ( 1 in rear 1 in side panel ) plus possibly 1 in the front, hard to say from the pics wether they would take 70 or 90mm fans tho.
Best regards.

Thanks for reply,il see what i can do with fans.
But first i need to get adequate PSU...(because fans eat power
and i wouldnt try it on 300 watt)

You've got places for two case fans, I don't know the size but measure one screw hole to the next (not the diagonal), the fan size you want will be a couple of mm bigger (i.e. 80 mm fan has screw holes 71.5 ± 3 mm).
You can have them blowing in or out, considered opinion is have them blowing in to the case to create a slight over pressure to prevent dust getting in elsewhere, if you do then you'll need a filter to prevent it actively blowing dust in (see http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/how-to-keep-dust-out-of-your-pc-663270).
Otherwise it's a nice empty case. Plenty of room to get air moving and keep your processor and card cooler.
