Ahoy,
after reading the following threads http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//showthread.php?t=153095
I decided and give myself some time and create a map. I layed an exaggerate amount of mines next to my ship next to the shore (5000 mines in a radius of 1km), since my first laying 50-500 didn't help at all.
Yet, when I enter in my map, I see everything except mines. I tried cruising and checking with the free camera underwater just in case.
I just want to view the explosion animation when a ship collide with mines.
I am currently using operation monsun mod though with uboat add-on.
Anyone know what's the catch?

I have done the same thing. I stocked Tokyo Bay with ships and Carriers and then sent wave after wave of bombers and planes in to torpedo and bomb them. I also laid mines every where in front of the ships as a screen and then tried to maneuver past the mine screen before I fired.
I was great from the camera watching wave after wave of American planes coming in low. I had been all ahead flank until I had spotted the mines just barely touching the surface of the water. I went below periscope depth and kept the scope up so I could see underwater and I could see the mines clear as day within 50 yards or so. I maneuvered around until I was free of the field then fired at the carriers.
It was a fun make believe mission and I did love those planes dropping torpedoes and bombs. Some say the mines are never breaking the surface. In some places they do however.

I can think of two issues that might cause you trouble. First, if you put the mines into a mission, they will not usually be in the campaign (I think). Second, you must get the entry/exit dates right. The mines will not be there if you arrive too early, or too late. There may be other things, but I would check the date thing first.

Not at my PC, but think I can remember how.
Drag a minefield over, set density, then set a waypoint, right click on waypoint, properties, set radius of field. You can click on waypoint and hit m key and should see your minefield. As far as depth, you can set the min and max height of mine in properties to get them at random depth.
As torp said, make sure your date is correct. I assume you're making a single mission.
This may be an odd question, but does anyone know if you can make the mines invisible?
