Problem Patching SH4 to 1.5

Hey All,

I'm having a problem trying to apply the 1.5 patch to
Silent Hunter 4.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled SH4 after having issues (I couldn't apply the patch before either). So the game is now vers 1.0 I think.

If I try to apply the patch which is file name 4Gb_Patch_for_SH4.exe which was downloaded from SubSim.
it says it can't apply the patch because it's an unknown version.

I'm not installing into defaul folder, I install all games into C:\Games so it's C:\Games\Silent Hunter 4 which shouldn't make any difference
since I point the patch to that folder.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Installing into C:\Games\Silent Hunter 4 is not the problem.
You can not go from versions 1.0 to 1.5. Did you purchase U-boat missions DVD or download version of U-boat missions? They are versions 1.5.

Per statement at bottom of 4 gig patch download page, the 4 Gig patch is for SH4.exe version 1.5. You do not have that version per what you wrote.

You need the following version 1.4 at this download link,
1.4 patch (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=8)

Ahh that's the problem then, no I figured it was just a patch lol... yeh thanks, I have the 1.4 patch.

my ship mods start under water like subs , i am using 1.5 , are there any mods to fix this problem, the only ship that starts on the water is North Carolina in midway quick mission and the Iowa in test mission and career, my USA Montan have no crew on board either , lol :o

Mine sometimes also start underwater, but surfaces after a minute or two, dont' know what causes it.
