Requested some movies from the library about a week ago an they came in today, Das Boot Collectors Set, U-571, K*19, Crimson Tide, an the Hunt for Red October, all on Blu-ray, plus a big screen an surround sound w/ some SH5 on top ha. Not a bad way to spend Friday night, plus first time watching Das Boot loved it but wasnt crazy about the ending, there's nothing like the sound of a creaking U-boat under pressure or the sound of a gang of depth charges going off over surround sound had me about ready to brace every time lol

You should watch it with Turtle Beach Headphones maxed out on volume.

I watched The Pacific with those headphones and if you closed your eyes you can tell which direction the characters are getting shot at from and which way the shells are falling/going to fall.

The airfield scene on Peleliu was just awesome with those headphones.

Welcome to Subsim! :woot: Sounds like you're starting off your patrol correctly... :smug:

P.S. I highly recommend The Enemy Below, Crash Dive, Run Silent Run Deep and Operation Pacific. :yep:  Also, you'll come to find out that U-571 is the butt (stern if you prefer) of our jokes here. The movie is a running gag for us. :arrgh!:

Lol I've never been able to try a pair of Turtle Beach head phones always heard good things about them, but my surround sound does the job 5.1 Channel 1,000 Watt LG just got her at Christmas. And w/ having a odd shaped living room I have to rear surround sound speakers right behind me instead of to the sides, an watchin Das Boot w/ it was great being able to hear the British destroyers screws coming from in front of me an then behind me an then KA-BLAMMMMM lol is crazy. U-571 isnt one of my favorites but it fits the time period, but I'll have to check those other ones out for sure, an yeah the patrol went fine ran into a large convoy scored 3 sinking's before the escorts came after me, an they let me have it for over an hour game time before i was able to loose them run silent go deep an once they were over me an couldn't pick my screws out over theirs i killed engines an hid.

Thanks it wasn't easy that's for sure, they were maaaaad at me lol, the fun part was sneaking in an out through the Straight of Dover, that place crawls w/ war ships an planes. And at the moment the only mod I have is EQuaTool 01.01 by AvM- Kriegsmarine Woody Golden Style, I'm kinda new at Subsimming an definitely new at the whole Mod thing, have been thinking about picking up maybe 1 of the Das Boot Mods w/ the Blue lights or maybe a new UI

For some that also applies to Crash Dive.

+1 for the good headphones.

Blu-ray war movies with a good set of headphones are an amazing experience.
