At least you won't have to wait a whole year for the third part which is supposed to be released in July 2014.

I still haven't seen the first one. I don't want to get excited then have to wait. I do have the 4-disc boxed sets of the extended versions of Lord Of The Rings. This time I'm waiting to see if there are extended version of The Hobbit. I'll see them all soon enough.

Can honestly say I wasn't impressed by the trailer yesterday. There looked to be too much bumpf and padding in there for my liking. The amount of stuff they put into the first movie that had nothing to do with the book amazed me. I know its all about the money, but FFS, he could have done the whole book verbatim in two movies without adding a bunch of stuff that has no relevance to the book at all.

I notice that Orlando Bloom is back as Legolas although that character isn't even in the Hobbit.

Only good thing about the first installment was Azorg the Defiler.
Most of it was Martin Freedman playing the role of 'hero', or main character, or whatever you want to call it.
I bombed out big time because i can't stand Martin Freeman, don't like leading/main characters in action movies who attempt to crack funny(certainly not for me) wiseass remarks and jokes every 5 minutes, all the while pretending to be the macho uber-hero that kicks the baddies around and attempts to make it look realistic.
Yea sure, lay it on with the shovel. Save it for a parody movie or a comedy.
Yea-yea, i know, the movie's called The Hobbit so it's going to be about a hobit, in this case Martin Freedman...
LOTR Trilogy was great, i really enjoyed it, so far, The Hobbit part 1 for me was a disappointment.
Less wiseass stuff and more action i say!!!

I dunno, nothing about Freemans Bilbo struck me as macho, far from it actually but then again he has been a favorite of the wife and I since Hitchhikers Guide.

That's what i meant in my post.
Certainly not a stand-out at all.
His acting in my opinion was lack-lustre.
