First they sack Symonds for being too Aussie, then they make Clarke captain, then they start sending blokes home for not doing their homework, now they've sent Warner home for a little push 'n' shove. And look were it's all got us!:har:

Has any body seen Boonie?

(btw it's an ODI )

You missed the biggest joke of all haven't you?
Clarke is now a $6 Million Dollar man. :nope:
What a f'in joke.
Considering the PM gets approx. $250-ish thousand.

Now that is funny.

A pretty sad state of affairs imo but I promise not to laugh as much as the cons did over the years when the roles were reversed :)

5-10 years max imho then the next generation will be up to the mark....hopefully.

The Ashes will be a good measurement of how the two nations compare.

Tell them, the next match they loose all of them will have to play in slutty red women's underwear. You watch them buck up and fly right.

Well there is some hope. The Lions got beat last night by a provincial side for the first time in 40 years. Well done Brumbies!

The Ashes however will be staying put this year I fear.:/\\!!

Well, who'd have thought? It looks like there may be some hope for us after all. :D

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-06-24/clarke-reportedly-quits-selection-role/4776676

They've sacked the foreign 'homework' coach and Clarke has resigned as a selector!

But wait for it, the best is yet to come: it looks like they're thinking of making Boof (Daren Lehmann, for the unacquainted) the coach! Yeesssss! :woot:

Bring on Boof! Maybe then the team can man-up some. :yep:

Look out poms!

I can't help but wonder if someone from Cricket Australia is actually a Subsim member who read this thread! :rotfl2:

I reckon the Aussies form problems are down to more than just Mickey Arthur.

troopie
06-24-13, 06:41 AM
Yeah, I know, you're right, but at least they may be able to start holding there heads high.

Jimbuna
06-24-13, 06:48 AM
Well I honestly hope so for the sake of cricket and a keenly fought Ashes Series.

TarJak

Rgr that. We could start off with a pair of openers that can actually score more than a handful of runs. The coach and the way the players reacted to him had a bit to do with it and Boof will no doubt command a lot more respect that Arthur.

Maybe we could have our own subsim "Ashes".:hmmm:

Make it a drinking contest...:hmmm:

Convicts vs The Crown.

Last one standing wins.

Need to think of prize:hmmm:

I am going for a 3-0 England win, I would have said 5 but you cant trust our bloody weather.

Jimbuna
06-24-13, 12:30 PM
I'd agree 3-0 if the weather interferes and 3-1 if it doesn't.

TarJak

Yes Australia 5 for 5 about halfway through most of their innings.

Seriously I reckon we'll see 3 draws due to rain and 2 wins to the poms, unless you get a freak streak of settled weather for the next month.:har:

The much criticised rotation policy is out the window now as well. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/ashes-to-ashes-rotation-policy-dead-declares-james-sutherland-20130625-2ouae.html
Things could be on the up. Too little too late though I reckon.

Jimbuna
06-25-13, 09:40 AM
Rotation can work fine but only if you have enough quality in depth and I'm sure that isn't the case atm.

Jimbuna

Don't you just love kids :D

Schoolchildren who won a competition to sing a song at the first Ashes Test match of the summer have been told to change the "cheeky" lyrics.

"We would even suggest that Shane Warne is recalled, but he is too worried about going bald."

"You can keep your koalas and your kangaroos / you can keep your coral reefs and even the sunshine too / but you'll never get the Ashes back."

The new song has the line: "No matter how far it seems - you shouldn't worry, just follow your dreams."

Not those ones. Cheeky little beggars.

I see we are making some runs against Somerset. The bowlers should have done better though.

Has anyone considered letting the government play cricket, and the cricket team run the country? Just a thought. :hmm2:
