With satisfaction, Balz picked up the last of the personnel folders. In a few minutes he would take a well deserved nap before getting underway. "Bernaaad," he called.and marked the leave request approved.

Bernard walked up to the officers' nook.
"Take these to the flotilla office and tell them we'll get underway at 1599 hours."
"Jawhol, Herr Kaleun. As soon as I get my bicycle clips."
"Did you get a bicycle?"
"No, Herr Kaleun."
"Then why the clips?"
"I¡¨ll show you." Bernard left and returned a few seconds later "First I tuck in my trousers into my socks, then I secure them with a bicycle clip on both legs, then I tighten my belt."
"Fascinating," Balz said. "Now tell me why go with this routine when you are not going by bicycle?"
Bernard twirled in place. "This way my trousers become inflatable fhart holders.
