I'm sure there's more than 10 reasons. Isn't there? :haha:

Every way you look at it, there are a lot of people moving to Texas.
Five of the 10 fastest-growing cities in the country between 2011 and 2012 were in Texas, according to new figures from the US Census Bureau (http://www.census.gov/newsroom/releases/archives/population/cb13-94.html). New York is way out in front in terms of added population, but Houston is second with San Antonio and Austin fourth and fifth.

The South East in general has a lower cost of living which means an improvement in quality of life because in most places the dollar goes farther than other parts of the country.

Texas has the best economy of any state in the South East so it is no surprise that people flock to Texas for jobs.

I spent a little over a year in Texas because the Air Force calls Texas home.Basic training is in San Antonio and there a more Air Force bases in Texas than any other state.I liked Texas a lot except for those damn access roads that lead into every major road they have those in Louisiana as well.

Other states would never admit it but they are jealous of Texas.People visit Texas and they wish their state was like Texas.

Maybe If they get too many progressive liberals from the PRC or elsewhere moving in like a cancer. See Colorado. Then again Texas I think has a strong cultural identity. Hopefully all the newcomers will integrate themselves into Texas society like they should instead of trying to change things to emulate the nanny state where they came from.

I think this is probably one of the top reasons why people move here.

What would happen if Texas went blue?

The USA would have a second california, in debt up to its eyeballs, pushing for more federal and state control over every damn thing under the sun, cost of living through the roof, regulations galore.

Hmm, I think Texas would be the last place to go Democrat. It'd be like putting the Canary on the top of the mountain above the mine. :)

Now Now not all us blues are bad. there are quite a few that lean closer to red because they realize you can't help everybody under the sun but also hold true many blue ideals. the same goes to the red some lean blue but hold true to many of the red ideals.

In the beginning Utah had two parties: the Mormon party and the Liberal party. When Utah became a state they felt the need to parrot national politics, which resulted in Utah mostly agreeing with whichever camp won. Since 1968 Utah has been solidly Republican where national politics are concerned, but the two favorite governors in recent history have both been Democrats.

One good thing about Texas and its free and easy attitude to zoning and regulations is that you can have a fertiliser plant next to two schools and an old folks home, not have to worry about safety inspections or business insurance..... then blow up half the town and let the tax payer pick up the tab:yeah:
