I would like to add a series of the high fidelity marches and such that are available online from the era into the game. Is it as simple as dropping mp3s into a folder in game?
If anybody knows would be appreciated. I am actively creating files from existing music and broadcasts online, pumping them from a 1930s/1940s AM radio/ LP music filters to give them that authentic old school effect and I'd like to share the collection with the community when its finished.
I'd also like to help convert existing recording to match the flavor but only if this is possible to do and work in game.
Thanks

depends on what you want to do if you are adding gramaphone tracks that is as easy as adding to the gramaphone folder IIRC. If you want more in game background music you are pretty stuck with copying music over to the music folder of the sounds file and renaming youtr new file and deleting the old one.
unfortunatly you cant use MP3 format everything is either WAV or OGG. you can easily convert files by importing and then exporting selecting the desired file type using audacity (you need a plugin for MP3 though). word of caution though you might get a lower quality.

I use MP3 files for the gramophone without any problem, even though other files in there are OGG...but MP3 works fine for me.:yeah:

peroanally never messed with the gramaphone so i was going off of memory
I would first check the box in preferences to make sure you have administrator privileges to edit files in the SH3 gramophone file. Otherwise when you click save it will be "denied".
I use a MP3 music file I've downloaded from Amazon to click and drag to the gramophone folder.
I've added Benny Goodman's "Sing, sing, sing" in this way.
I know, I know, American jazz is verboten, yet, I like the song.:)
