I got SH5 as a Christmas present from my son back in December 2012.

2 days ago, I just went through this for the very first time.

Is "Black May" as far as it goes? Because I was told I went on to become an Admiral in N.A.T.O.

No, Black May is not as far anymore. Thanks to Trevally's Open Horizon mod.
