View Full Version : Repetitive water pattern?

Just wondering how to change this. I notice when looking around from the conning tower that at certain angles I see the grid pattern in the water graphics. It's especially noticeable from free camera and if I zoom up enough it looks like 1980's level graphics. I've loaded up SH4 and the water looks great there. I wouldn't care if I couldn't pick out the pattern from the bridge

Maybe a mod caused this, I dunno.

I'm currently running the following mods:

d3d_antilag101
MightyFine Crew Mod 1.2.1 Alt w beards
German U-Boat Crew Language Pack
NewUIs_TDC_7_3_0_ByTheDarkWraith
OPEN HORIZONS II_full v2.2(which doesn't seem to work, 44' not showing up)
Less Annoying Footsteps 1.0
Real Environment -Revision_3(which neither caused nor fixed the problem, I was hoping it would)

Here is an idea...

It's not that bad of course but that's the thing I thought of from free cam

I'll post a screenie when I figure out how...

Thanks!

I know what you mean, the pattern becomes very obvious very fast...

Nothing against SH4 as i'm a big fan too, but sorry, it's worst in SH4 on my rig.
Repetitive sea patern lines are almost all hiden in SH5, and that's one of the things wich give SH5 a little + :03:

Only my new zero wind sea is flirting with those paterns.

I agree:up:, from the fly free camera point of view I didn't notice the problem, and from the (real life simulation) sub`s bridge point of view no repetitive sea pattern lines

Yeah, it's strange, SH4 looks good except the whole "grainy effect" thing. In SH5 everything else looks great graphics wise, when on the bridge I can see the grid running the cardinal directions(N,S,E,W,) that is most obvious when looking in a cardinal direction and from the bridge there are what look like vertical shadows in the water which resemble a faint continuous bar code in 360 degrees.

I have an HD 6670 ati card. Maybe I can tweak the settings a bit.

I released a mod to get rid of that for SH4 :yep: Don't remember what I named it though. You'll have to search for my name in SH4 forums.
