I have downloaded SH3 Weather it doesn't seem to work at all.
I have the dreaded 3 day and running storm and I dont know when it will end or what mod I can DL that will fix it. Visibility is basically nothing and I can't do anything in the game except float around hoping to stumble on the enemy, even if I do, cant deck gun em because of the visibility.
Anybody know of a surefire weather mod that works while in patrol?

Sounds like my last winter patrol. 51 days and only sighted one enemy ship.
Frankly, 3 days seems quite normal for some storms.
The fix does change the rate of change though, so it's not impossible that you'll get long bouts of bad weather once in a while.
I use Hsie's patch, as it has a weather fix in it (among other goodies) ...even then once in a great while I'll get a 3 days or more storm. Not near as much as the stock weather though.
When the weather gets that bad, I usually stay under and wait for it to pass, ever since a destoyer snuck up on me in the poor visability and ended my Caribbean cruise.
I've had trouble hitting targets in foul weather too. This tactic has worked for me, when playing with less than 100% realism: I plot the course of the target via the hydrophone. With the course plotted on the map with the ruler, I try to get about 500 meters away from the target's course at a 90 degree angle. Even at that close range, you may not be able to see the target. When the sound contact indicates the target is within 20 degrees from zero bearing, I lock the periscope and the yellow icon should appear in the scope, even though you can't see the target in the fog. When the yellow icon reaches zero bearing I fire. If you are at least 500 meters away the eel should arm and hit your target. When it does hit, you'll see the flames and a silhouette of your target. Good hunting!

Knowing the speed of the target is very important with this tactic.
I have a table that calculates the shooting bearing for you if you know the speed. This is only for 90 degrees shots though. There are tables available for other angles as well, you have to look for them a bit on the internet.
