This is one of my absolutely most loved books I have ever read, if I were to choose just three of five books for the isle, this one would be amongst them, always. I have read it four times now. Never found anything that compares to it.
However, I tend to ignore the third book, while thinking the first two actually form just one. I never got the fourth which was put together by Peake's widow and published some years ago.
Seeing the picture in that BBC article, I'm glad I never cared for watching the show, though. The visual style totally betrays the mood I got from the books, and the ideas I hold myself on how the protagonists look like, both in faces and clothing.
